Ski Dubai - Skiing and Snowboarding in Dubai
Ski Dubai is a large indoor skiing facility and ski resort at Mall of the Emirates on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, with snowboarding, ski lessons, children's play area, and hot chocolate at the Avalanche Cafe halfway up the chairlift. Information guide about the Dubai indoor skifield.

In October 2005 Dubai, the city with the biggest adjectives in the world, opened its first indoor ski slope with genuine artificial snow. So instead of getting into a steel tube and sailing through the air at 50,000 feet to get to Switzerland, you can now go to the northwestern end of the Mall of the Emirates (MOTE) where a 400 m long steel tube contains snow, cold air, hot chocolate and even an apres ski bar in the Kempinksi Hotel where you can enjoy the alpine scenery painted on the walls.
Many laughed, many visited, and many thought "hey, this is not a bad bit of fun!". If you're experienced, then you'll find it tame but not as boring as you might expect. If you've never skied or snowboarded before, then this is one of the best places to learn - you can go when you like, you don't have to worry about weather, and you can wait a week between lessons while the bruises and aches and pains go away.
The standard way to enjoy the giant freezer is to buy a ticket for two hours worth of boarding or skiing - ticket price includes chairlift rides, warm jacket and trousers but not gloves or hat (gloves you need, hat you can do without unless you really feel the cold), and equipment rental. If you want lessons, that costs a bit extra unless it's the first time - you can get a beginner package.
