  • GEMS Wellington International School (GWIS / WIS) will offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma program from September 2009 for Year 12 and 13 students. GEMS announced today that the IB Organisation (IBO) has granted them approval to offer the course at WIS. The IBO website says approval was granted in April 2009.
  • Fees updated for 2009-2010 academic year, a 12% increase from AED 29,687-64,585 for 2008-2009.
  • Add AED 600 non-refundable registration fee.

  • GEMS is opening another Wellington International School (WIS) in Dubai Silicon Oasis for September 2009, although it looks like it's now being called GEMS Wellington Academy, and also has a Palm Jumeirah WIS planned.

  • WIS plans to offer International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in the Sixth Form from September 2009, subject to approval by the IB Organisation. IB inspectors attending school on 17 & 18 March 2009. A-Level will continue to be offered?

  • Wellington International School (WIS) is a GEMS school - intended to be their flagship school according to them?
  • August 2006 - telephone number has recently been changed according to their website, old one was +971-4-3486575 (from searchme.ae)?
  • HRH Prince Michael of Kent is the patron of the school.
  • Head until September 2006 was Mr Chris Wright, Mr Geoff Turner has taken over (was previously principal of Jumeirah College - also a GEMS school).
