  • Umm AlQura school expanded by 10 classrooms, 4 science laboratories, 2 staff rooms, and some utility rooms, according to a WAM report 19 February 2009.
  • Expansion is part of the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation charity program called With Science We Transcend, with the goal of improving education in the UAE by providing students with better schools.
  • Phase 1 started in 2007? Completed with the help of the Umm Al Quwain Charitable Association at a cost of AED 1.3 million.
  • Phase 2 of the expansion program will improve capacity by 900 pupils and should be complete by mid-2011. Cost is estimated at AED 400,000.
  • He added that with this, capacity would reach 1,150 pupils. He added that the second phase will take 16 months to complete.
