- Smart Steps Montessori Nursery in Ras Al Khaimah (SSRAK? SSMN?) is a new nursery and preschool in the Kouzam area, near the Ladies Park?

- Nursery curriculum is a combination of British curriculum and Calvert Home Schooling program.
- RAKFTZ magazine (issue #6 July/August 2010) says about special needs facilities: Smart Steps is also the first centre in RAK to specialise in educating children with learning disabilities like Autism and Downs Syndrome, as well as other developmental disabilities such as speech delay, slow learning, and Attention Deficit Disorder.
- Smart Steps also say they have fully qualified therapists available for Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Hypnotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Reiki, Speech Therapy.
- Children aged 6 months to 4 years old accepted. Up to 10 or 11 years of age (both figures seen, unknown which is correct) for special needs children.
- Children divided into two age groups - Sunflowers beginner class for 18-30 months old, and Blue Oceans advanced class for 2½ to 5 years old. Unknown what happens to kids from 6-18 months old.
- Opening times and hours are 0730-1800 (7:30 am - 6 pm). Daycare also available on Saturdays for children up to 10 years old.
- Transportation to and from nursery is available.
- Summer camp for kids from 2-10 years old. Activities include Art and Craft, Drama, Cooking, Face Painting, Field Trips and Outings, Henna Tattoos, Indoor Games, Montessori Activities.
- Smart Step RAK is affiliated to First Steps Montessori Nursery in Dubai. But presumably not Small Steps Nursery in Dubai, or Smart Steps Nursery in Al Ain? And we expect none are related to the Smart Steps Montessori School in Texas USA (www.smartstepsmontessori.com).
