A statement from ADEC said that Al Taawan Private School Branch (British Curriculum) would be closing (date not supplied) and the students relocated to another school (Merryland International School?). Fees should not increase by more than 20% according to the statement.
31 January 2010
A Gulf News report 25 January 2010 said Sherwood Academy was closing down, then clarified that it was not closing until 2013 in a 30 January 2010 report.
Neither report mentioned the new Mussafah international school opening in September 2010 (Merryland International School?) that will be operated by the Sherwood Group of Schools.
Unclear whether both Sherwood IGCSE branch in Mushrif and Sherwood CBSE branch in Muroor are closing, or just one of them.
Sherwood school website changed from www.sherwoodacademyuae.com (is now spam) to www.merrylandinternational.net (not www.merrylandinternational.com) in 2009?

Sherwood Academy IGCSE branch full name is Al Taawan Private School Branch Sherwood Academy IGCSE ... or something like that.

A Khaleej Times report 27 August 2006 said the Abu Dhabi Education Zone (ADEZ) had given permission to the Al Tawaan School to change to a British syllabus and increase fees by 43%-80%. Parents were not happy with the large increase.
Date of establishment for the UK curriculum branch assumed to be September 2006, but not confirmed.
No tuition fee information supplied.
