- Sharjah Institute of Technology signed partnership agreements with Pembrokeshire College and Coleg Gwent in Wales for staff and student development and exchanges.

- Sharjah Institute of Technology (SIT) offers Edexcel BTEC vocational training programs at National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels.
- Course length is usually 1 year for certificates and 2 years for diplomas.
- SIT open to expat students for academic year 2009-2010 (announced June 2009), previously entry was restricted to Emirati nationals only (Xpress 05 July 2009).
- Deputy Director of SIT is Sayyed Mohammad Sayyed (Sayed Mohammed Sayed?)
