Sharjah Insitute of Technology management and ownership change
- 12 Sep 2012 (The National) - Sharjah Institute of Technology management will be taken over by Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI) from 2013, which seems to conflict slightly with a WAM report a month earlier. ADVETI is one of the organisations under the umbrella of ACTVET.
- Director of SIT is Hanadi Al Suwaidi. Previously was Malcolm Pickering. Date of change not supplied.
- 16 Aug 2012 (WAM) - SIT ownership and management transferred from Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) to Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) from 01 September 2012.

- SIT open to expat students for academic year 2009-2010 (announced June 2009), previously entry was restricted to Emirati nationals only (Xpress 05 July 2009).
