24 September 2010 - Russian School in Sharjah closed?

• The Sharjah Russian School has been closed by the Sharjah Education Zone (SEZ) according to a Khaleej Times report 24 September 2010.
• The report said the school, licenced by the SEZ to only accept students up to Grade 6, was shut down for violating the rules and accepting students up to grade 11. The school is also found to have issued a fake certificate to a student of grade 11.
• Fawziyya Hassan, Director of the Sharjah Education Zone was quoted as saying "The parents and students are innocent, and they fell prey to the deception of the school’s administration, ... The management had also stopped paying the water and electricity bills. It also did not inform the Zone regarding the appointment of a principal or meet with it to discuss problems concerning the campus."
• The KT also reported that The owner of the school has, however, reacted strongly against the decision of the Zone. When contacted over phone he accused the Education Zone of deliberately demanding the closure of his school.

• Additional email address shkola@emirates.net.ae (and probably shkola@eim.ae).
• Fax number +971-6-522 2583 also seen as telephone number for RPS in some sources (including Sharjah Yellow Pages), or telephone number for the French School in Sharjah (appears to be incorrect information)?
• Director is Elena / Yelena Kurlikova / Kurlykova / Korikova?
• Postal address according to the UAE Yellow Pages is PO Box 30463, Sharjah, UAE?
• Other sources give postal address as PO Box 64211, Sharjah, UAE.
• PO Box 26538, Sharjah, UAE also seen as the address for the Kashmir Emirates Trading Establishment in Sharjah? Might be a typo.
• School location is in Al Azraa schools area or Al Manakh (near the Sharjah Central Post Office)?
