- Repton Dubai will open a junior school or primary section with 300-400 students in September 2007 and a senior school or secondary section in September 2008. Partnered with Repton School in Derbyshire, UK - a well known British Public School established in 1557.
- Roald Dahl is one of the more famous Old Reptonians and wrote a book about his old school days called "Boy". He also wrote "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Jeremy Clarkson is a more recent Old Reptonian, so is the British Ambassador in Dubai (as of February 2007 at least). There is an Old Reptonian Society in Dubai.
- Repton School Dubai intends to provide a more pleasant experience than that which Mr Dahl endured. It will also be the first international co-ed boarding school in Dubai - handy if you want your brats and bratesses out of your villa in Jumeirah but want to save money on airfares. Dormitories will be segregated, and won't open till September 2008.
- Current contact information is for Ms Terry Chayeb, at ECAP Education FZ-LLC. Two more contact numbers are +971-50-4596312 and +971-50-4596599 for admissions information.
- Repton School will be under the management of Dubai Schools, an initiative of The Dubai Education Council - see www.dec.gov.ae for more information. Head can also be contacted at dubai@repton.org.uk.
- Staff-student ratio expected to be about 1:10.
- No Latin in curriculum but extra-curricular Latin expected to be available. Information from radio interview with Head Master in February 2007.
- Fees information KG-Year 6 for school year 2007-2008 and could be fully inclusive except for boarding fees (unknown how much as of June 2007). Looks like one of the most expensive KG classes in Dubai.
