The Gulf News reported that the Pakistan Islamic Higher Seconday School (PIHSS) in Al Ain was facing teacher shortages due to visas not being issued until a problem with sponsors for the school is resolved - ... the UAE authorities objected to two names as they were on employment visas and as per the law they cannot become investors or sponsors.
However, according to the same report, the embassy official in charge of the Al Ain school, Imran Akhtar, said "That matter has also been sought out and all the requirements of the local authorities will be fulfilled within two weeks,"
The reason for needing sponsors is that the school is changing its status from a diplomatic mission school to a private school as per new UAE school regulations.
