18 February 2011 - NYIT accreditation application rejected (The National news report)

• The New York Institute of Technology in Abu Dhabi (NYIT) had its accreditation application for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) denied by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). NYIT needs to make modifications and resubmit before the CAA will reconsider approving the program.

• The New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) in Abu Dhabi (NYITAD?) offers NYIT undergraduate and graduate courses in Abu Dhabi (and other locations, including Bahrain, Canada, China, and Jordan).
• Note that contact details listed on NYIT website are incorrect (tel +961-24048523 and fax +961-24450830 have the wrong country code - should be +971). Another tel number seen is +971-2-4048611.
• All classes are conducted in English.
• NYIT is listed as an accredited institute, since 2007, on the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation website (UAE MoHESR) but there are no actual academic programs listed as accredited.
• NYIT fees in the USA are $37,000-$39,000 per year (AED 136,000-143,000). Unknown if the same fees apply in Abu Dhabi.
