So far there isn't a London School of Economics in Abu Dhabi (but you can do LSE degrees in Dubai), but there is a relationship between the Abu Dhabi Government and the LSE, so maybe one day ...
20 May 2010 - LSE Middle East Center announced
- The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) announced a new LSE Middle East Center according to an LSE press release.
- The LSE Middle East Center will be a research center focusing on modern Middle Eastern cultures, societies, economies, and international relations.
- The center has received AED 50 million (£9.2 million) worth of funding from the Abu Dhabi Government through the Emirates Foundation for Philanthropy and from The Aman Trust.
- The LSE ME Center will be based at the LSE in London, starting October 2010.
- Inaugural director will be Professor Fawaz A Gerges.
11 September 2008 - DPE agreement with LSE (press release)
- The UAE Department of Planning & Economy (DPE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the London School of Economics (LSE) to provide executive training and research support for the Abu Dhabi government and business community.
- The DPE also is investigating the possiblity of establishing an Abu Dhabi School of Economics.
- The London School of Economics is a school (or college?) that is part of the University of London.
