- 2012-2013 fees increased 9% from 2010-2012 (earlier information was a possible increase of 18%), made up of 6% from "Outstanding" rating by the KHDA for 2011-2012, and 3% due to building expansion (refunded or delayed until 2013-2014 if new building not completed by September 2012). Registration deposit 25% of annual fees for new students, re-registration deposit 10% for returning students.
- 2011-2012 - registration fee AED 500, deposit to secure place AED 3,000, annual deposit for continuing students AED 1,000. No bus transport provided by Kings' School.
- 2010-2011 fees information not supplied. Please send fee structure to education@dubaifaqs.com. Fees estimated as AED 35,284-53,694 based on report that Kings School was rated "Outstanding" and permitted to increase fees by 15% again for 2010-2011. Update: assumed to be unchanged from 2009-2010 due to KHDA fee freeze.
- 2009-2010 fees information not supplied, figures in italics are estimates only, and unconfirmed. Based on assuming a 15% increase allowed as a result of the "Outstanding" rating for 2008-2009, i.e. 2009-2010 fees are AED 30,682-46,690.
- Kings School Dubai is a primary school only so there are no Year 7-13 classes.
08 June 2012
- Fee increase according to newsletter to parents of 9% for 2012-2013 made up of 6% for getting an "Outstanding" rating and 3% for building expansion, not 18% after all. Phew!
- The previously mentioned Emirates 24-7 report is no longer available online (leaving one somewhat suspicious about how careful the reporter was about getting their original story correct), but a new report said "Kings Dubai, one of the city's top 'oustanding' schools has notified parents about an "approved" 9 per cent fee increase - just days after it had announced an 18 per cent hike from September, 2012."
- The National also mentioned the 18% increase, saying Kings Dubai, a school rated outstanding, told parents it had applied for an 18 per cent increase, citing infrastructure expansion. It was granted an increase of 9 per cent. Unknown if they had independent information or were referring to the original report in Emirates 24-7.
24 May 2012
- Kings School will increase fees by 18% for 2012-2013 according to an Emirates 24-7 report (headed "Kings Dubai Hikes Fee By 18 Per Cent Is Your School Next"). Made up of 12% for building expansion and 6% for getting an "Outstanding" rating from the KHDA?
- The report said Kings' Dubai, Dubai's one of the most prestigious schools, has announced a fee hike of 18 per cent starting this September ... and quoted the school registrar (or someone from the school?) as saying "Yes, we have hiked the school fee by 6 per cent as we are an outstanding school ... Yes, there is another 12 per cent hike," apparently referring to the building expansion.
15 May 2012
- New headteacher, Alison Wilkinson, started September 2011? Previously she was Primary Headteacher of Wellington International School in Dubai, from 2005-2011. Previous head teacher of Kings Dubai was Debbie Watson.
- Expansion plans include an additional multipurpose sports field, athletics track, multipurpose court, library, cafe, drama studio, music room. Completion expected by September 2012.
30 October 2009
- Kings School Dubai was apparently rated "Outstanding" by the DSIB (KHDA school inspection agency) for a second year running, according to a report in The National newspaper.
- Kings Dubai inspection dates 26-29 October 2009?
06 September 2008
- Also called "The Kings' School" but listed on Ministry of Education website as "Kings Institute".
- New headteacher is Deborah Suzanne Watson. Previous head teacher was Kevin Stedman (who is now Chief Education Officer for Kings' Education - the owner of King's School, and the upcoming Kings' College Dubai).
- KS is a Member of the British Schools Middle East (BSME).
- Fees for 2006-2007 were AED 23,000-35,000 per annum. Fees for 2007-2008 were AED 26,680-40,600 pa. Fees unchanged for 2008-2009 according to KHDA (no increase requested, fees increased 16% for 2007-2008).
