List of KHDA Dubai school inspection reports for 2009-2010

The second academic year of the KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority Dubai) school rankings and inspections was 2009-2010, carried out by the Dubai School Inspections Bureau (DSIB Dubai) unit of the KHDA. (Classement 2010 des écoles de Dubai).

  • Not all Dubai schools included, only those in the DubaiFAQs Dubai Schools Directory (mostly private schools) which were inspected in 2009-2010. Most government schools are not listed here.

DSIB / KHDA follow-up inspections 2009-2010
  • Schools that were rated "unsatisfactory" for 2009-2010 were given recommendations for improvement, and follow-up inspections were carried out in April - May 2010.
  • Of the unsatisfactory schools in Dubai, the following schools had improved to an acceptable level according to KHDA information:
    • Al Hudaibiah Primary School (or Al Hudaiba / Al Hudaibah?)
    • Al Khulafaa Al Rashideen School
    • Al Maktoum School for Boys (Al Maktoom School) - 3 follow-up reports in June 2009, November 2009, April 2010
    • Apple International School
  • The other unsatisfactory schools did not have improvements reported in the follow-up reports.

  • Numbers in brackets for Totals are for 2008-2009 academic year.
  • For the 2008-2009 round of school inspections, the KHDA published a brief summary and rating for each school for public consumption, and sent a more comprehensive report to each school.
  • For the 2009-2010 round of school inspections, a more comprehensive report was made available to the public for each school (about 15-20 pages), pdf downloads available from the KHDA website.
  • Results for Indian and Pakistani curriculum schools were released on 17 February 2010, results for other schools were released 10 May 2010.
  • Schools graded as 'unsatisfactory' will have their performance reviewed again after 3 months, and if still not satisfactory then would be prevented from carrying out any expansion plans. Dr Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director-General of the KHDA said to Emirates Business in an 11 May 2010 report: "The schools rated 'unsatisfactory' will not be allowed to expand or diversify."
Dubai school inspections comments for 2009-2010
KHDA and school fee increases in Dubai
  • After the 2008-2009 KHDA school inspections, schools were permitted to increase fees for 2009-2010 academic year by different amounts depending on their ranking.
  • For the 2010-2011 academic year, the KHDA has imposed a freeze on school fee increases in Dubai, unless there are special circumstances for example a school moving to new premises.
  • So table of fee increases included here for reference only but is not applicable for 2010-2011.
