Kent College Canterbury school campus in Meydan City, Dubai, UAE announced as a partnership between Mir Hashem Khoory LLC (MHK) and Kent College in the UK at a press conference.
Announcement said that the Meydan campus "... will be designated as an official Kent College campus and not a franchise, and will be managed and operated directly by Kent College."
Project cost estimated at AED 150 million, land area 400,000 sq feet, plot location not given.
Construction timeline expected to start 2013 Q3 and be completed by June 2015. Update: MHK says construction start date delayed until 2014 Q1.
Classes from KG1 to Grade 12, British curriculum, capacity of school 2,000 or 2,200 students (both figures reported). According to the Kent College UK headmaster, David Lamper, the school "... will be offering both A-levels and IB programmes to accommodate student’s individual needs" (GN report 25 Mar 2013). Kent College in the UK offers both A-Levels and IB Diploma classes.
Facilities and activities to include equestrian training, football and rugby fields, tennis courts, cricket pitch, athletics track.
