- K12 International Academy (KIA?) could be a consideration for UAE home schooling, and in the Middle East.
- KIA reportedly has KHDA accreditation (announced in press release from K12 International Academy April 2008) but school details not found on KHDA website. KIA is also seeking accreditation from the US Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).
- The K12 International Academy is the Dubai based subsidiary of K12 Inc. based in the USA.
- KIA serves Dubai, the UAE and the Gulf region, providing individualised tuition programs for KG to grade 12 students via website, email, telephone, and face to face meetings at their KV office. Perfect if you don't want to be in a classroom.
- The boss in Dubai said in their press release that the K12 Academy is intended to complement, not replace, traditional schooling; and that after some research they had found that there are many students who are "gifted, or need more individual attention, or do not fit in socially in a mainstream environment." Which sounds like she was thinking geeks, prima donnas, and misfits, but wanted to be diplomatic about it.

General Comments - might not apply to K12 International Academy
- Many popular schools are full for 2013-2014. New schools in Dubai might have places.
- Allow extra for books, extra-curricular activities, uniforms, trips, etc if not included in school fees.
