  • Fees for Years 7-13 included for information but they apply to JESS Arabian Ranches, not to JESS Jumeira which is Foundation Stage 1 (FS1) to Year 6 Primary School only.

  • Jumeirah English School was one of 3 "Outstanding" schools to lose their top KHDA rating according to a report in The National 27 October 2009 saying that they had not made sufficient progress with improving Arabic and Islamic Studies, but the report is unconfirmed. The Kings Dubai School website refers to the report with a news item commenting that Mr Peter Carpenter of the DSIB has confirmed that the KHDA have not yet stated "that any school will lose its outstanding ranking". Nothing found on the JESS websites related to the report.

  • JESS Dubai fees information updated. Was AED 25,035-31,380 for 2008-2009, appears to be a 15%-16% increase, which is what was permitted by the KHDA for schools with an "Outstanding" rating, which JESS received for 2008-2009.
  • JESS websites at www.jess.sch.ae and www.jessdubai.com, appears to be the same information on both websites.

  • The International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) website says that JESS has been an IB World School since February 2009. Presumably IB are referring to JESS Arabian Ranches which offer the IB Diploma program in grades 11-12.

  • Jumeirah English Speaking school (commonly referred to as JESS) is a well regarded primary school for those wanting a British education. Most teachers would rate it highly as a place to work.
  • The Jumeirah location is the primary school. A new primary and secondary branch of JESS opened up in the Arabian Ranches in September 2005.
  • Most students and staff are British.
  • Website only has login pages, no information. Another domain www.jess.sch.ae shows error - see JESS Arabian Ranches page for more website information.
  • School has a debenture system - pay 10,000 dhs deposit which is returned when student finishes school.
