- A new Islamic studies college is being established in Abu Dhabi as a branch of the Université Mohammed V-Agdal in Morocco (UM5A) (founded in 1957) according to UAE media reports, and the UM5A website.
- Agreement signed between UM5A and the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC Abu Dhabi) on behalf of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments in Abu Dhabi. Signing date 12 February 2010 according to the UM5A website, announced in ADEC press release 22 February 2010.
- Agreement signed by Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili (Dr Moughir Khamiss Al Khili), Director General of ADEC, and Professor Hafid Boutaleb Jouti, President of UM5A.
- Students will be expected to speak Arabic, English and French.
- Hamdan Street location is temporary until a new campus is established.
- UM5A Abu Dhabi courses to be accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR).
- There is also an Islamic studies school in Dubai.

- Universitè Mohammed V-Agdal (UM5A) representatives visited Abu Dhabi to inspect the new Hamdan St campus for a branch of UM5A to be established in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
