Indian Community Kindergarten (ICK) relocation to Mussafah, MBZ City

ICK Al Dhafrah closed, and opened as a new school in a new location, the Bright Riders School in Mussafah (BRS), Mohammed Bin Zayed City in April 2013. ICK is not related to the International Community School in Abu Dhabi - a British and American curriculum school for Arab students.

  • Contact information for old ICK location (closed) removed from table: Phone number +971-2-6421520, fax +971-2-6421623.
  • Old email address ilakg@eim.ae.
  • ICK deleted from ADEC directory, new listing for BRS added (rather than just changing the name and location of ICK).
  • See also International Community Kindergarten Madinat Zayed branch, Al Gharbia region.
Indian or International Community Kindergarten LLC (ICK) fees and information
  • Fee schedule not supplied.
  • No website or Facebook page provided or found. FB page at facebook.com/pages/International-Community-Kindergarten/131787820187404 is auto-generated FB spam.
  • Postal address is PO Box 39665 Abu Dhabi according to the UAE Yellow Pages (is also PO Box for Bright Riders School). Or PO Box 30856 Abu Dhabi according to other sources?
  • Previously called the Indian Ladies Association Kindergarten (ILA, ILAK), or ILA Creche and Nursery School.
  • Not the same as or related to the International Community School or the Asian International Kindergarten.
  • Location map not supplied. Located in Al Dhafra district on 9th Street, off Airport Road. Opposite (sort of) the Al Noor Islamic Indian School and behind the Giggles English School and Kindergarten. Some sources give tel contact as +971-2-6413517. Some sources give location as opposite Al Falah Plaza Mall but that appears to be incorrect (is where the Little Flower Indian School is).
  • [Check] GPS coordinates might be 24°28'29.50"N, 54°22'10.43"E (24.474860,54.369565) (approximate only, not confirmed).
03 April 2013
  • ICK opened in April 2013 in new campus buildings in Mohamed Bin Zayed City (MBZ City) Musaffah, renamed as the Bright Riders School (BRS) in Mussafa (Mussafah). With same management and staff? Same owner and chairman, Dr B R Shetty.
  • Unknown if old ICK contact details still valid: tel +971-2-6421520 and fax +971-2-6421623.
11 February 2013 - ICK Annual Day
  • News reports or press release said that ICK held its 35th Annual Day on 08 February 2013 in the Sheikh Zayed Auditorium at Abu Dhabi Indian School. It was the last Annual Day as ICK since it will be relocating soon and start operating under a new name, Bright Riders School (location not supplied or reported).
  • Name changed from the Indian Community Kindergarten to the International Community Kindergarten (ICK) somewhere along the way (date of change unknown).
08 March 2012
  • ICK might be expanding, from capacity of 600 to 4,000 students. Gulf News reported that (referring to Dr BR Shetty, chairman of ADIS) ICK, a kindergarten owned by Shetty, with 600 pupils has also applied for a new school with 4,000 seats from KG 1 to KG 12, he said.
  • Khaleej Times reported that (also referring to Dr Shetty) he said the authorities have agreed to grant a piece of land measuring 33,000 square metres to build a state-of-the-art school, which could be built in the nine months from day of the allotment. He did not say where the land will be allotted.
