04 August 2010 - new principal at Greenfield Community School (press release)
- Mrs Angela Hollington replaces Ms/Dr Lesley P Stagg as GCS Principal starting August 2010.
- Previous headship jobs held by Mrs Hollington include Dubai Gem Private School (Jan 2009-Aug 2010), International School of Zug and Luzern,
Switzerland (Head of School, Jul 2006-Dec 2008), International School of Moshi Tanzania (Aug 2004-Jul 2006), International School of Geneva Switzerland Pregny-Rigot campus (Sep 1999-Aug 2004). - Dr Stagg moves to a job as Chief Accreditation Officer for the Middle East and Asia region of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

- Greenfields Community School accepts special needs students? A 04 May 2010 report in the Khaleej Times about the lack of schools catering to spcial needs students said The Greenfield Community School has at least two children with special needs in each classroom.
- GCS plans to offer the IB Diploma Program to Grade 11 students in the 2011-2012 academic year, and to Grade 12 students in 2012-2013.
- Number of students currently 525 according to GCS website FAQ and KHDA May 2010 report, capacity is 1500 students.
16 December 2009 - Phase 2 groundbreaking and time capsule
- Groundbreaking ceremony for Phase 2 expansion of Greenfield Community School held on 14 December 2009.
- New buildings completion date expected to be September 2010.
- Facilities include science laboratories, auditorium, more classrooms, and studios for arts, drama, music.
- Grade 6-10 students will use new facilities from September 2010, Grade 11-12 students from September 2011.
- Time capsule buried (opening date 2019) with school uniform, music CD, some letters to the Class of 2019, yearbooks and photos.

- Greenfields Community School (GCS) under construction and expecting to open 26 September 2007. Will be one of the Beacon schools.
- GCS will offer classes from KG to Grade 6 initially, progressing gradually to Grade 12.
