- New facilities include auditorium, planetarium, sports hall, climbing wall, 2 swimming pools, 4 tennis courts, rugby pitch, basketball court.
- Secondary school start date planned for September 2012.

- The Gazelle GAAzette (GEMS-AA newsletter - why it's called the GAAzette, not Gazette) announced Mr Ian Deakin as the new principal to replace Jason McBride who has moved to the Dubai World Academy as Elementary School Principal. Mr Deakin was the deputy head at Jakarta International School (JIS)?

- GEMS American Academy Abu Dhabi will open with classes from KG to Grade 5 and progress to Grade 12 in future years.
- Accreditation applications with NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) and CIS (Council for International Schools).
- The Abu Dhabi Academy will also apply to IBO to offer IB (International Baccalaureate).
- Tel and fax numbers are temporary until school opens.
- GAA fees information for September 2007 (10% discount offered if registering before 01 Sep 2007).
- School fees include loan books but not uniforms and transport. Registration fee 500 dhs and reservation fee 4000 dhs.
- GAA (or AAA? ADAA?) is being promoted as a sister school to Dubai American Academy (DAA) which has quite a good reputation amongst parents, teachers and students in Dubai, so GAA should be an attractive choice. It ought to be, as it's one of the more expensive schools in the UAE.
