01 August 2014: A news report or press release gave (original source not clear, republished in AB, CW, etc), or confirmed from previous reports, the following information about the new school.

Local UAE partner is Goldline Group.
Campus area 1 million sq feet.
Location in Dubailand, but where in Dubailand was not stated.
Opening date planned for September 2015.
Capacity about 2,000 students (decreased from previous figure given).

Still no useful contact details provided for registrations or enquiries. Try either Goldline Group in Dubai (+971-4-3344481) or Ellesmere College in the UK (tel +44-1691-622321). And if neither knows what you're talking about, don't be too hopeful that the school will open by Sep 2015. It was not clear if it had been included in a recently released (by the KHDA) list of planned schools for 2015, which is another sign that a Sep 2015 opening date might be too optimistic.

No website provided or found. Nothing at www.ellesmerecollegedubai.com, www.ellesmerecollege.ae, or www.ellesmere.ae.

09 May 2014: A Khaleej Times interview with the Ellesmere College headmaster (Brendan Wignall) confirmed their plans to open an international campus in Dubai, in partnership with a UAE school operator (not named in the report). Previous information was that the local partner for Ellesmere College in Dubai was Goldline Group. School would have student capacity of 2,500, and follow a UK curriculum. Construction start date possibly later in 2014. Opening date, location, fee structure, contact details for registration and admission, and other related information not given.

31 March 2014: The KHDA released a list of new schools in Dubai expected to open in 2015. Ellesmere College was not named in the list however there was a reference to a British curriculum school opening in Dubailand in September 2015 with a capacity of 2,100 students. Which might refer to Ellesmere College.

21 December 2013: Ellesmere College in Dubai (ECD) is a new school planned or under construction. Opening date unknown, possibly September 2014 or September 2015? Being developed by Goldline Group in Dubai with Ellesmere College in the UK. Contact information for Gold Line Group is tel +971-4-3344481, email info@goldlinegroup.ae, location 302 Umm Hurair Building (Um Ghurair, Umm Hurrair), Zaabeel Road, Al Karama.

Goldline Group established the Springdales Indian School in Dubai, and their website says they plan to spend AED 1 billion to develop more CBSE schools in the UAE and GCC region, but no information found about Ellesmere College or any other UK curriculum school in Dubai. Also, no mention found on the Ellesmere UK website of a new Ellesmere school in Dubai.

Jobs advertised in the TES 20 Dec 2013 for a Founding Headmaster and a Primary School Head, both to start before September 2014, unknown if that means the school plans to open by then or later. Pay scale not supplied. Benefits package includes fully furnished airconditioned accommodation, free school places, medical cover, baggage allowance, annual return airfares. Closing date for job vacancy applications is 06 Jan 2014 with interviews held in London, UK, starting 20 Jan 2014. Application letter and CV should be sent to Anna Kizirian, email atanna@pmcgulf.com, including contact telephone and email addresses of 3 references.

School location map and information not supplied but the TES job vacancy listing map shows the school site on the Jebel Ali - Labab Rd, which is an odd place to put a new school in Dubai. It's a long way from Dubai, and we don't know of any major projects in that area (existing or planned) which would explain the location choice.
