- Head of school is Robin Appleby according to some sources (eg IBO) but DAA website still says Dr Brian Mathews is Superintendent, and Robin Appleby is Assistant Superintendent.

- Head's name updated. Previous head, Mr Dan E Young, is CEO of Khoie Education which opened RAK American School in November 2008.

- A GEMS school but probably one of the better ones. See also the list of GEMS schools.
- DAA has a good enough reputation in Dubai for students and teachers, and a waiting list.
- Same websites at domain names www.dubaiacademy.com, www.dubaiacademy.org and www.gemsaa-dubai.com.
- Fees for 2006-2007 AED 12,592-46,620. Fees include books (on loan) but not uniforms or transport. School does not operate bus services, private bus arrangements are available.
- GEMS are opening up a sister school in Abu Dhabi for September 2007 - GAA or GEMS American Academy - Abu Dhabi.
- DAA is unrelated to Dubai International Academy, another IB school, in Emirates Hills, Dubai American Scientific School, Dubai Arab American School, or the American School of Dubai.
