- Deans International School DIS relocating or closing? The German School of Dubai website says they are moving into the old DIS buildings. Nothing obvious about a move on the DIS website.

- Deans International School (DIS) principal/director's name updated (is Bachar Mohammad Mohammed according to KHDA information), also written as Bashar Mohammed? Previous head was Chadi Hamzo (left in November 2008?).
- DIS established 1992 according to KHDA school inspection report from the November 2008 inspection ("School established for 17 years"), which doesn't really make sense if the school first opened in September 2006. Even the Edugates (the owners) website says about DIS "Established in September 2006 in Dubai".

- Fees information probably out of date for 2008-2009 academic year, website doesn't have updated information.

- According to the KHDA (Knowledge & Human Development Authority, Dubai), Deans International School license date is 01 May 1992. But DIS didn't exist then. KHDA also give the location as Academic City, which is different to what the map from the Dean's school website says.

- School website still has a lot of "under construction" pages.
- www.deanseducational.com appears to be a Deans International School website also. The site has a login page and a downloadable presentation. As it's a .exe file, downloading it is a bit of a security risk. The domain URL is registered to an Egyptian company with no clear connection to DIS or Edugates.
- One parent's review of Deans school on expatexchange.com is positive but brief.
- Not much further information on an Ajman branch of the Dean school found. They were in a list of exhibitors for GETEX 2007 (Gulf Education & Training Exhibition) in Dubai, as well as Deans International School Dubai.

- Another Deans International School is apparently scheduled to open in September 2007 in Ajman (dubai.craigslist.org was advertising for teachers in March 2007).

- Most information given above for DIS comes from a brochure distributed with Gulf News 04 September 2006.
- DIS is run by an organisation called Edugates who have several other schools in the region. One in the UAE, Madar International School in Al Ain, appears to have a less than pristine reputation with several complaints from teachers about working conditions.
- Dean International School website still being updated, has a few photos and not much else. Hopefully the school is better organised than the website. Website is www.deansinternationalschool.org, not www.deansinternationalschool.com.
- CITA (a US accreditation body) lists Deans School as being in Al Ain but with no further details. Perhaps they've confused DIS with the Madar school (in Al Ain). You'd hope that CITA don't make that kind of error when actually accrediting schools.
- The Edugates website (www.edugates.net) doesn't list any Deans International Schools in the UAE.
- Cannot find a listing on the MOE (UAE Ministry of Education) website but that may not mean much since spellings are confusing, for example they list "The Popular Music Institute" as "Bobiolar institute".
- PO Box given as 19701 in brochure from school. DIS location map and DIS website have PO Box 20850.
- Alternative email may be info@deansinternationalschool.org (and a previous one was deans@edugates.net).

General Comments - might not apply to Deans International School
- Many popular schools are full for 2009-2010. New schools in Dubai may have places.
- Allow extra for books, extra-curricular activities, uniforms, trips, etc if not included in school fees.
