- An Ayurveda Medical College is planned for Abu Dhabi according to various press reports on 10 September 2010 (original source unclear).
- Location is apparently in the unheard of, but apparently proposed, Herbal City in Abu Dhabi.
- News was based on comments by Dr B R Shetty at a "Health and Research in The Middle East Asian Countries" conference.
- College to be established in a joint venture with Santhigiri Ashram / Santhigiri Healthcare Division.
- Santhigiri Healthcare Division runs medical centers, ayurveda hospitals, and panchakarma centres in India.
- Dr BR Shetty is the CEO and MD of the New Medical Centre Group (NMC) of companies based in Abu Dhabi. He is also the owner and/or chairman of several schools in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi Indian School, Al Hamdania School, Deira Private School, Indian Community Kindergarten,
