- AIS / IAS plans to increase fees by 20% approved by the UAE Education Ministry after only 10% approved by the Sharjah Education Zone (SEZ) according to a Gulf News report - The Sharjah Educational Zone had previously rejected the school's request for a 20 per cent hike applicable from September this year. Fawzia Hassan Gareeb, Director of Sharjah Educational Zone, said a 10 per cent increase was approved. The school then approached the ministry.
- The school reportedly has financial difficulties - The school's principal, Anett Wilson, said the school has been in the red since its opening. "In case the request is not approved," Wilson wrote to parents, "the school will have to take certain procedures to cut its losses. These may include lowering wages, increasing the number of students in classes and shutting down some classes."

- The Australian International School in Sharjah (AIS) has been accepted as an IB World school from March 2010 according to the IBO website, and will offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) from September 2010.
- Excellence Scholarships available for students entering Grade 11 to study the IB Diploma. Register with school for the AIS scholarship day (date 15 May 2010).

- The Australian International School in Sharjah opened with K-6 students, extended to grade 7 in September 2006, grade 8 in September 2007, and eventually will be K-12.
- Queensland P-12 curriculum used. School established in partnership with the Queensland Government education department?
- Facilities include large, indoor multipurpose activity rooms, art and music teaching areas, networked computer laboratory, library, parent waiting areas with free internet access, 25m indoor swimming pool, multipurpose hall and gymnasium stadium. More expansion in 2007 planned.
