- Fees are in UAE dirhams (AED), Rate B. There is a Rate A used for some students which is lower by about 5% or less.
- Undergraduate semester and annual rate is for 12-16 credit hours. Less than 12 credit hours, used credit hour rate. More than 16 credit hours add AED 2,450 per credit hour excess.
- Other undergraduate fees for 2010-2011 (annual) include textbook fee AED 900, activities fee AED 200 or AED 300, health insurance AED 300 or AED 600, lab/tachnology fee (per term) AED 580-800.
- Graduate credit hour fee is 2,790 for Humanities & Social Sciences courses.
- Graduate annual and semester fees calculated based on doing 9 credit hours per semester, 2 semesters per year. Total credit hours range from 30-36 for a master's degree? Or 51 credit hours for an MBA? In some cases students might do more or less credit hours, and/or complete 3 semesters of study during an academic year (if summer term included), which will result in different figures for the annual and/or semester fees.
- Accommodation in student housing available, fees for 2010-2011 are AED 3,230-14,600 per term depending on type (single, double, shared, or private occupancy, kitchenette included; private, shared, or common bathroom).
American University of Sharjah (AUS) scholarships
- Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) established the ADIB Scholarship Fund with an endowment of AED 5 million (announced 06 March 2012). Students in all subject areas are eligible to apply.
American University of Sharjah Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements signed
- Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI) (rather than the Dannish Hydraulics Institute as stated in the press release 13 March 2011) - three year MoU signed with AUS to cooperate on research, training, technological exchange and consultancy services. AUS and DHI will also encourage and develop joint funded or commercial project opportunities in Sharjah.
- Emirates Aluminium Smelter (EMAL) in Taweelah, Abu Dhabi signed an "Industry-Higher Education Partnership" MoU with AUS to encourage cooperation in areas including applied research, student sponsorship, technical training. The first initiative is the "Falah" Emirati graduate scholarship program which provides Emirati students with financial support during their studies and employment at Emal on graduation (press release 22 February 2011).
American University of Sharjah accreditation
- Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) accreditation for the AUS School of Business and Management (SBM) announced 04 April 2011 (press release). Peer review process required every 5 years to maintain accreditation. AACSB is a USA based accrediting organisation founded in 1916.

- AUS MBA ranked as the best in the Gulf region, and second in the MENA region, according to a survey published in the February 2012 edition of Forbes Middle East. The survery covered 37 private universities in the MENA region which offered MBA programs. ANother 32 government universities were covered in a separate survey.

- American University of Sharjah (AUS) introducing a textbook fee of AED 1250 per term (AED 2500 per year) per student, to be set aside for book purchases from the AUS bookshop. The intention is to stop photocopying of expensive textbooks which is regarded as copyright infringement. Students are reportedly not amused.
- Annual tuition fees according to press reports are AED 73,220 plus additional specialist fees.

- American University of Sharjah offers Bachelor degree programs and courses in Arts and Sciences, Architecture and Design, Business and Management, Engineering.
- AUS is licensed in the United States by the Department of Education of the State of Delaware and accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in Philadelphia
- AUS Bachelor degree programs are accredited by the ABET Accrediting Commission in the USA.
- Founder of AUS is Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah.
- AUS university is coeducational.
- Student accommodation (segregated) available in Sharjah University City. Cost is 5,000-19,000 dhs per year.
- AUS is not the same as the University of Sharjah - both AUS and UoS are in Sharjah University City though.
- New chancellor of AUS from 01 August 2008 will be Dr Peter Heath, taking over from Dr Winfred L Thompson (announced by WAM news 20 February 2008).
