American University of Sharjah School (AUSS) is a new US curriculum school scheduled to open in September 2013 for KG and elementary school (K-5) with higher grades enrolment becoming available in subsequent years. Total capacity expected to be 1800 students.
AUSS will serve as a feeder school for the American University of Sharjah (AUS), and enrol children and dependents of AUS faculty and staff.
School location on an 80 acre plot of land next to AUS, donated by Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah.
Construction expected to start in late 2011 and completion of Phase I expected by mid-2013.
Search Associates are advertising the position of Founding Head of School. Job application deadline 15 March 2011, start date of employment August 2011. Salary scale and benefits package not supplied. Update 06 March 2011: SA website now says Search postponed until further notice.
AUSS plans to seek IB accreditation as an IB World School, possibly within 3 years of opening.

Many popular schools are full for 2012-2013. New schools in Sharjah might have places.
Allow extra for books, extra-curricular activities, uniforms, trips, etc if not included in school fees.
