  • Teaching couples are provided with own partly furnished apartment (hard furniture, kitchen white goods and crockery but not small electrical appliances, linen). Single teachers share an apartment.
  • Bus transport provided to school.
  • Utility bills are 50% subsidised by AISA (but not telephone, internet, or gas).
  • Salary scale not supplied.

  • Fees information updated to AED 24,200-44,000 for 2008-2009 (was 22,000-40,000 for 2007-2008). Fees include books and annual registration renewal. Initial fees are 500 dhs application and 2000 dhs registration; bus transport is 5000 dhs per year.
  • Director's name updated - Gareth Jones (previously Headmaster of International School of Paris) replaced previous AISD director Dr Walter Hetzer / Hertzer in summer 2008.
  • Secondary School Principal is Mr Felim Bolster, Elementary School Principal is Dr Robert Evans.
  • AISA apparently accepts special needs students with mild disabilities.
  • There is also an American International School in Dubai, which is also, or was previously, known as Al Andalus School (unknown if related to AISA).

  • Fees information from AISA website for 2007-2008 should include the 11% fees increase which was approved by Abu Dhabi Educational Zone 13 June 2007. Some parents have said they're not happy about the increase since there was a 25% fee increase within the previous 12 months (see forum topic). Add 500 dhs application fee and 2000 dhs new registration fee (non-refundable) for new students. Fees include books and annual re-registration fee.
  • AISA is expecting to offer IBPYP and seeking CIS (Council for International Schools) accreditation.
  • Expansion plans for a new wing to increase teaching, laboratory, library and gym facilities for the 2008-2009 academic year.

  • Many popular schools are full for 2013-2014. New schools in Abu Dhabi might have places.
  • Allow extra for books, extra-curricular activities, uniforms, trips, etc if not included in school fees.
