- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) - Annual tuition AED 30,000 full-time. Reduced to AED 24,000 for 2010-2011 (supplied information)? Confirmation not found on website. Degree program accredited by MHESR (MoHESR) (checked 20 December 2010).
- Associate Degrees in Liberal Arts, Business or IT - 2 year courses, still available in 2009-2010? Not available for 2010-2011 (supplied information).
- Academic English course - Annual tuition AED 30,000 full-time - reduced to 24,000 dhs for 2010-2011?
- Annual book rental AED 1200, extra curricular activity AED 120, computer lab AED 60 for 2009-2010? Reduced to annual book rental AED 800, extra curricular activity AED 80, computer lab AED 40 for 2010-2011 according to information supplied (not found on website).
- Registration fee AED 200, book deposit AED 700.
ACD background information and history
- ACD is not related to the American College of the Emirates (or American University as it's now called).
- ACD was established in 1990, moved to new buildings in 1998. Campus expansion completed in 2001 with new library and IT facilities. Another refurbishment completed in 2009.

- American College of Dubai (ACD) has become a StraighterLine Middle East partner which means students who complete Straighter Line online courses can use them as transfer credit towards ACD degrees (20 September 2010 press release).
- StraighterLine offers online courses and programs for $99 per month plus $39 per course. Programs available include Accounting, Business Statistics, College Algebra, English Composition, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Precalculus.
- Unlike many online degree mills, StraighterLine is not a scam according to a Washington Post report 26 February 2010 which said ... StraighterLine, based in Alexandria, is a serious education company ...

- Al Shafar Group acquired 51% of the American College of Dubai. Date of acquisition unknown, announcement date on Al Shafar website (www.alshafar.ae) was 13 September 2009.

- ACD forms an Articulation Agreement with University of Phoenix (UOPX) which means students can transfer credits towards a UOPX Bachelor's Degree course. There is a University of Phoenix Dubai office but all courses are online (unless you go to Phoenix).

- American College of Dubai (ACD?) provides 2 year Associate Degrees in Liberal Arts, Business or IT, as preparation for transfer to another university to complete a Bachelor degree.
- TOEFL, SAT and English courses also available.
- Tuition fees AED 17,200-20,000 for 2006-2007
- No website at www.acd.ae (September 2006).
- Related to or same as the "Centre for American Education"? But not the American University in Dubai.
- Visa, hostel and transport available.
- One of the directors is listed on website as Matein Khalid, who writes a widely read business column in the Khaleej Times.

General Comments - might not apply to American College of Dubai
- Fees, facilities, education quality varies widely. Allow extra fees for visa, transport, accommodation.
- Salaries, accommodation, other benefits for lecturer jobs vary substantially. Check contracts carefully for medical, housing, flight allowances, etc.
