- Aldar Academies is opening a new primary school in Al Ain in September 2011. No contact details supplied, contact Aldar Academies directly for enquiries. The new school is not the same as, nor related to, the Al Dar Private School in Al Ain.
- Oddly, they are advertising in the Times Educational Supplement (UK) for "Secondary Specialist Teachers - Geography" for their primary school: Aldar Academies - Join Our Successful Team In Abu Dhabi, UAE - Two new Primary Schools to open September 2011! - Al Mushrif Primary School Abu Dhabu [sic] - Aldar Academies New Primary School Al Ain.
- Job applications close 08 April 2011. Send application and CV to Mr Jim Harvey, MA at careers@aldaracademies.com.
- Name of new school, salary package, tuition fees, etc, not supplied. Although the advertisement does say salaries are "attractive." Benefits include accommodation, international health insurance, yearly flights to home country, shipping allowance, and end-of-contract gratuity.
- The new school will take over a government school building which is closing in June 2011. Renovations will start then (which probably means in September 2011 that the school will still be a construction site).
- Capacity expected to grow to 960 students but initially they expect to have 10 classes of 25 children in each class.
- Principal will be Heather Mann who was at Al Yasmina School as Head of Primary School (and was going to be Principal of the Al Muna School from April 2011). Deputy Principal will be Martin Coogan who is currently the Deputy Principal at the Pearl Primary School in Abu Dhabi.
- School facilities will include library, sports fields with astroturf, sports hall, swimming pool (or pools), theatre (capacity 200 people).
