- To enquire about Al Bateen Secondary School (ABSS?), contact Al Muna Primary School in Abu Dhabi.
- Curriculum will be IGCSE for Years 10 and 11. International Baccalaureate (IB) is under consideration for Years 12 and 13.
- Aldar Academies is also establishing an Al Bateen Primary School in Abu Dhabi in the same location as ABSS, temporarily, until Al Mushrif Primary School opens in September 2013.
- ABSS is a non-profit school, as are other Aldar Academy schools, according to them. As it happens, Aldar schools made a loss of AED 13 million for the financial year 2010 according to their financial reports.

- Construction of the new Aldar Academies school will be completed by June 2011 according to a report in Construction Week, which referred to the school as the Aldar Academy rather than the Al Bateen School (as it is called on the Aldar Academies website). Unknown what the correct name for the new school is. The Abu Dhabi Aldar Academy is unrelated to the Aldar Academy in Sacremento, California, USA.

- Wates Construction International (UK) was given the AED 150 million construction contract for the new Aldar Academies Al Bateen Secondary School (announced in 19 April 2010 press release)
- School name is Al Bateen Academy?
- Joint Venture partner is Al Fara General Contracting
- School will have capacity for 1500 students. Area about 24,000 square meters. Facilities will include swimming pool, library, outdoor sports area.
- Construction started in April 2010? Completion date expected mid-2011.

- Main contractor - Wates-Al Fara'a joint venture (JV)

- Aldar Properties announced the appointment of Dewan Architects & Engineers to develop the architectural and engineering design of the new Aldar Academies school in Al Bateen (Aldar Properties press release 28 March 2010).
- The new 3-storey school will replace an existing building, and will be for Year 7-13 students.
- Facilities will include home economics, multi-material workshop, music rooms, drama studios, an indoor swimming pool, a multipurpose hall, a performance hall, an educational oasis courtyard, and outdoor sport facilities.
- Cost of project is US$350m (AED 1.3 billion), and completion date is 2011, according to a MEED report 28 March 2010.

- Many popular schools are full for 2013-2014. New schools in Abu Dhabi might have places.
- Allow extra for books, extra-curricular activities, uniforms, trips, etc if not included in school fees.
