A Gulf News report 20 May 2010 said that "36 out of 45 teachers from Abu Obaidah Ibn Eljarah Private School in Ajman have lodged an official complaint to the Private Education Division of the Ministry of Education."
Complaints were about low salaries, "maltreatment and disrespect" from the school administration and management, and unruly behaviour by students.
One teacher claimed that "Everyday, we catch students having sex inside toilets,"
Teachers also said they had overloaded timetables with too many classes, and being told to teach subjects and levels unrelated to their teaching experience or qualifications.
The Ajman Education Zone (AEZ) is investigating the complaints. According to the newspaper report, Mousa Gareeb, Director of the Ajman Education Zone, said an inspection committee was sent to the school to speak to some of the teachers whose names were in the complaint.
